As a creative nonfiction writer, how well can you tell your story in front of a live audience? Do you have an elevator pitch? Can you entice a room full of potential readers by telling your story with no notes or props? Are you looking to spice up your book readings?

No matter where you are on the writing/publishing continuum, verbally engaging the audience with your story can help develop relationships with potential readers and increase your odds of being published. Whether you have a national book tour planned, just hope to speak at the local library, or want to tell your story at a Story Slam, this workshop will provide motivation to stand on the stage.

Note: Pre-conference workshops are an optional add-on ($50) for registered conference attendees; you may add one when you register, or you may also add one later, but, remember, space for these intensive learning opportunities is limited. Workshops may not be taken independent of the conference.

Jim and Terry are returning HippoCamp speakers.

I learned so much about the craft of storytelling and it truly helped me think about the essence of a story, either told or written. I enjoyed the session very much.
